Jessica’s talk describes how her personal experience becoming a speaker opened her eyes to what a journey truly is. She pulls together the past, present, and future of her journey and brings to light how our lives change as we follow our pathways. Jessica disliked the Toastmaster class that her mother signed her up to attend every Saturday at Chinese School, and still looked back upon it badly...until a few days before her TEDxYouth audition. Meanwhile, she is a sophomore at Newbury Park High School (Newbury Park, California, U.S.A.) who hopes to attend college and ultimately become a businesswoman or environmental scientist. She enjoys art and playing golf; her favorite book is Alice in Wonderland and her favorite movie is Lilo and Stitch. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
