One game that I have never played competitively is Need for Speed Underground 2 but I always had the desire to learn it one day, since I am already pretty good at all the other NFS games that were ever played in a notable competition at some point in time and only this one was always still a bit of a mistery to me.

There is not too much information about the game online but I did manage to find at least a few good videos that show the full car setup, including this one here from USSRxSurgeon on the Circuit track Marine & 25th: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-esSHhZjjs

I had a go at it myself this week and I was able to get within 2 seconds of Surgeon's lap time. There is also a video online of what appears to be a tournament race on this track between WCG 2005 medalist USSRxMrKOT and his teammate ChisNFS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N0htDCeOPA

This inspired me to record a full 6 lap race here myself and I was actually able to beat the total times that these two champions achieved in their match, so it seems that I am beginning to understand this game as well now. :)

Of course I am still very far away from the overall skill of the USSR players in this game and I will probably never reach it but at least on this relatively easy track I seem to be able to keep up now. :)

I did have a look at the WCG tracks as well and I have to say that some of them are probably the hardest tracks that were ever played at WCG in any NFS, so much respect to the people who have mastered this game back then. I still have to improve a lot if I want to be able to handle those tracks as well.

By the way, I would be happy if somebody could explain to me what the pros in this game are doing with the hydraulics at the start because I still don't have any clue about that. Let me know in the comments if you know more about it. :)
