The president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will not seek re-election in December. This could signal a peaceful transition of power in the country for the first time. This comes as former warlord Jean-Pierre Bemba hopes to become the country's next leader. The International Criminal Court convicted Bemba of war crimes in 2016, but he was acquitted in June.
