Being an emperor is a dangerous and precarious thing, especially if you don't have a safety net of secure allies and territory to fall back on. With the minimal crown authority the empire has added in to the huge amount of relatively powerful dukes (some of whom now have more vassals because I've had to hand them over to keep within the vassal limit) it means that there's always the danger that people will start to demand change within the empire. Often those changes aren't beneficial to the current ruler or their plans of succession.

But it'll all be alright as long as my current emperor lives. He has a strong network of powerful allies as well as a lot of prestige to help give plus modifiers to vassal relations. His heir however...
