US Officials: TT National Stole Plane At Florida Airport To Harm Self

Nishal Sankat intended to steal the passenger aircraft to harm himself. This was the allegation made by FBI agents when Sankat appeared in the Brevard County Court on Friday afternoon, charged with three offences arising out of his alleged attempt to steal a passenger plane at the Melbourne International Airport in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday morning. At the end of the hearing, Sankat, 22, was granted bond totalling $20,500. Sankat had no lawyer. A public defender was appointed. Sankat is the son of former UWI Principal Professor Clement Sankat. According to reports, the 22-year-old aviation student jumped the fence and ran across the apron and boarding the American Airlines Airbus A321. US law enforcement said a maintenance supervisor and a technician were aboard the aircraft when one noticed a shadow. The employees grabbed the man and took him off the aircraft.
