He would like to know what software I used to create the FLV versions of my videos and also what's the best format to share with others. I use blip.tv for my primary video service and one of the features of this service is to convert the format to multiple versions. So when I upload new shows, I automatically upload a H.264 version and a FLV (Flash) version. You can also use other software such as VisualHub for Mac (now discontinued), VideoMonkey - http://videomonkey.org (VisualHub open sourced), ffmpegX for Mac OS X, or SUPER for Windows. Each of these packages has a FLV export/convert option. To answer the second part of your question, I recommend using H.264/Mpeg4 to share videos with others. You get great quality, great compression, and it works perfectly for this cause. Thanks @regallen for the question!
