I came upon this 1950s commuter at a great little show in Mansfield, Texas today. You're looking at a Series III 1958 Metropolitan by American Motors. These cars were produced from 1953 until 1961, originally set up with Nash & Hudson parent companies. The car was designed by independent Detroit, Michigan designer William J. Flajole. They were built in England, both the body & the driveline. English companies Austin Motor Company was responsible for the drivetrain & electrical while Fisher & Ludlow produced the body. I've always found them interesting. This hardtop ($1527 new sticker price) was sporting Coral Red & Snowberry White color combo, factory correct after a google search later. I believe you can call these Microcars as well.
