In this side tutorial I will show you guys how to skip the entire process of masking inside of after effects.

Essentially what you do is cut out each pose for each sprite sheet you are using and name them something similar to the pose. For example. If I was using a Goku pose with a punch I would save that file as "g_punch." Once you get all your files organized you import them into AE in to a new folder for that character. It takes a lot longer in your preproduction phase. However once you start your production inside of After Effects it cuts out masking completely which can sometimes be a hassle.
