As former economics and business management student, Felix Buchbinder speaks about his experiences wishing to learn not only about one, but a diversity of economical cultures and models. He faced an academic and professional environment where monocultural models of “only the strong survive” seemed to be the only economical option to be integrated in society. He shares his out-of-the-box discoveries on wikinomics, multidimensional money systems and the social economy. His findings may inspire other academics and young professionals in their quest for turning their studies, working lives and general lifestyle into a meaningful adventure.

During his studies, Felix Buchbinder was fascinated by the fundamental element that moves billions of human beings all around this planet: our money system. He dedicated his thesis to the topic and ended up publishing a book on our current monetary system and its alternative solutions. Presenting the research findings from his book, he holds lectures and discussions on the topic in schools and universities in Germany and Switzerland. Throughout his studies he gained experiences working for large multinational companies as well as SMEs and NGOs. Parallel to his studies he also undertook unconventional training courses in kundalini yoga and meditation techniques. After finishing university he went on to teach as a Fellow for the non-profit organization Teach First Deutschland. He is currently based in Switzerland, developing clusters of income-generating micro-enterprises dedicated to common goods.
