Chandor locals have objected hotmixing of road as the work tender has mentioned it to be State highway. Locals claim that notifying the road as State highway will allow flow of heavy vehicles on the route. They fear of danger to heritage monuments and buildings in the area. However, later local MLA Clafasio Dias convinced PWD minister to intervene the matter. PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar has assured to take the issue to TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai for de-notification.
