Have you ever considered transferring? Why will most students contemplate a change of school, habit, or identity? Why do some people seem to thrive more than others in new environments, and what makes our school unique? From middle school to the mountains, stories of radical gratitude help us reevaluate a competitive growth mindset in the Silicon Valley. Drew Descourouez is an undeclared sophomore and Johnson scholar from the Bay Area. During his free time, Drew closely works with Free The Children, a UNESCO sponsored organization that focuses on youth empowerment. He is said to have a celebrity crush on Fr. Greg Boyle from Homeboy Industries and claims that he is the second coolest sibling in his family. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
