The way we humans look at animals has bothered me for a very long time. There are plenty of examples out there of bugs getting smashed because they are scary, ulgy, bothersome or just because we can. Every time that happens a life is being taken. Most of the time it's a life of a being who wasn't that aware of your existence in the first place. Think of pesticides you spray on your plants or crops. Think of that so called satisfying crunch when you smash a fly against the window or the spider that dissapears under your shoe. All of these animals have their parts to play in systems most humans can't even fathom, or don't bother to think about. In many ways they are more useful to our surroundings than we are. If you think about it, what is the added value of human existence for our direct surroudings? We're a threat to wildlife, flora, air and water quality and the regulation of the world's weather system. Ancient trees get cut down for short term goals, animals are being bred to keep the 'developed world' insanely fat, plastics are dumped in the oceans at a dazzeling rate and we live out our less than exciting days in smog filled cities, stinking cars and in front of computer screens. So maybe a bit of introspection is at hand. And getting of on a good start by looking at every living being as a living being and respecting them for who they are. I realize this is a serious deviation from what I usually put up on this channel, so erm... surprise! The track featured in this video is availaible at my bandcamp, and as per usual half of the proceeds go to charity: http://evilbluekoala.bandcamp.com/ As ever, feel free to share, subscribe and comment. Try to keep it civil, which I know is a challenge for some of you. To be up to date with everything EvilBlueKoala: http://www.facebook.com/EvilBlueKoala http://www.evilbluekoala.com The whole thing was filmed with a Canon 70D, all handheld. That should explain the stutters and focus problems. If that doesn't explain said problems, my incompetence can be blamed as well.
