Nick Lane was over today and we worked on the string arrangement ideas for three songs, "Another Love," "Don't U Know Me By Now" and "BC-SR Song 1" (which still needs a title). Nick is going to take my midi demo'ed string parts and orchestrate them out for 4 violins, 2 violas and 1 cello. The string session will be a week from Monday......March 29th to be exact so stay tuned for a few videos from that session!!! I've always loved real strings....you simply can't recreate the real thing with synths (well, you can come close but once you hear the real ones, you won't want to hear the midi demo ever again). Nick by the way is also a great trombone player who played bone in the horn section on my Live From The Inside DVD. He has also played with Rod Stewart, Chicago (subbing for Jimmy Pankow) and many many other greats. I met him originally thru Rick Braun who I think toured with Rod Stewart while Nick was in the band too. Small world...
