With no legitimate number one contender to the PPW World Heavyweight Championship, a battle royal was held to crown the next in line to face the champion. With eleven competitors vying for the opportunity, friendships were put aside and alliances were temporarily placed on hold as, one by one, each was tossed over the top rope to the floor below until only two participants were left.

During the battle royal, Anakin had fallen victim to some shady tactics on behalf of the self-proclaimed sportsman, Connor Corr, when Connor kicked the second rope into Anakin’s groin and eliminated him from the battle royal, but Premier officials took issue with the strategy and immediately signed an impromptu matchup between the two to give Anakin a shot at retribution.

With the early advantage, Skye Blue was now one win ahead of her opponent, Zero 1, in their best of seven series, but there were still many more matches to go as the winner will be decided by the first person to score four falls over the other.

After being betrayed by his now former tag team partner, Jose Acosta, at PPW228, Anakin had two motives going into his tag team match. One was an opportunity the challenge for the Tag Team Championships he had defended by himself against Iniestra and Sem Sei at PPW228 and the other was the opportunity to get his hands on Jose who, after personally handing the Tag Team Championship belts to Iniestra and Sem, joined in a beatdown on Anakin until Not Bad Chad stormed the ring with a chair to make the save. Conspicuous by his absence was “El Mero Mero” Iniestra who was still recovering from a chair shot he had received courtesy of Anakin after winning the titles, but, now firmly aligned with the new champs, Jose stepped in to take Iniestra’s place.
