Extra Police at Montgomery County Fair After Fights Saturday

DAYTON -- The Montgomery County Fair closed for the night Sunday without incidents. The same couldn't be said Saturday September 5, 2015.   Not too long before closing time, there were a couple of fights. Even so, it didn't stop people from coming back out Sunday. "So your cousin was here last night?" Fabian Peake was asked. "Yes, her and her friends were here," said Peake. "What did she say happened?" she was asked. "Um,  they didn't  tell us what happened,  they just told us there was a fight here, that's all that we know about it," said Peake.   Saturday night, teenagers, boys and girls, got in two fights. Deputies heard something might happen so there were extra officers. They broke up the fights. "I just think right now things, everything has just gotten so  out of hand," said fair goer Crissy Michaels. A number of Dayton police came and made sure the teens left the fairgrounds and the area without any more  incidents.   "Why are kids fighting all the time at different events? fair goer Thomas Wood was asked. "Well this world is crazy.  We have killings, drugs in this world and we still have fighting," said Wood. It's not  the first time fights have broken out at the Montgomery County Fair. In fact  last year the fair was shut down 20 minutes early because a group of kids started fighting. "A lot of fights break out at stuff like this,  like downtown, Urban Nights, stuff like that.   A lot of kids be fighting, come here to fight." said fair goer Monica Woods. "Why do they do that?" she was asked.   "I don't know," said Woods. Everyone talked to us said the fighting wouldn't keep them  from going to the fair. Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies said they kick people out for fighting. Those people could end up getting charged with disorderly conduct or assault, even if they are minors. The fair ends Monday September 7, 2015. The hours are 9:00am until 8:00pm.
