I am currently storing 3 varieties of Onions in my garage in plastic crates. I grew the onions this year in my garden. The onions are; 'Ailsa Craig' grown from seed. 'Red Brunswick' grown from seed. and 'Turbo' grown from sets. When some of my onions in my onion bed bolted I pulled them out and replaced them with sets so 'Turbo' was planted about 3 months late and probably, as a result, didn't grow to full size. I was given 2 'Show Onions'. I have stored them in exactly the same conditions with the other onions and so was surprised when one started to 're-grow' without any encouragement from me. It's now my intention to grow this onion on and hopefully get some seed, something I have never don before. The big drawback I can see with growing these extra big onions is their short 'shelf life'. I am not looking to make any extra work here and have no intention of filling my freezer with Onions. So the question I have to the growers of this type of Onion is: Do these big 'Show Onions' store?
