Since the magnitude 7.5 earthquake earlier this year, the Nipa-Kutubu District has remained in total darkness, with Power Pylons that had collapsed during the earthquake still damaged, leaving the whole district in darkness. 6 months since the earthquake the District has become heavily dependent on Diesel Generators, affecting local businesses and government service delivery.
