This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Since I started studying telecommunications engineering at UPC, I firmly believe that the training had given me in the service of creating technical solutions (ingenious) to solve a problem of society. This is the justification for the engineering profession. Despite having structures and operating methods that can be improved, the university is a perfect place to start a creative process, allowing you to keep in touch with young people and entrepreneurs, having open access to knowledge and freedom of movement to bring ideas to practice. The talk will focus on the driving forces that have allowed me to carry out a creative process engineering (#recode) from the university (in my case URV). In particular, I will discuss the creation of the Metabolomics Platform and the design and development of an in vitro blood test for determining cardiovascular risk.

Telecommunication engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Professor of Electronic Technology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili vice innovation and technology transfer between 2002 and 2006. He has published over 135 articles in indexed journals in the areas of sensors, microsystems and nanotechnology.
He has been responsible for the creation and launch of the first Metabolomics Spanish platform, a joint research center founded by the URV CIBERDEM (Spanish Network of Biomedical Research Network in Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Disorders).
It recently received the statement of distinguished professor at the University Rovira i Virgili, thanks to scientific and academic achievements attained over 20 years of research.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
