3 ingredients Only! This Indian dessert can be made in minutes and is very delicious. Quick dessert recipe only requires Rawa/sooji/semolina, milk and sugar. To enhance its taste, you can also add cardamom/elachi powder, saffron and almonds. Garnish it with raisins.

Rawa Sheera or Sooji Halwa is a very popular sweet dish all over India and is made on religious occasions, as parsad (offering to God). After prayer Halwa is served to devotees as a blessing.

WHAT YOU NEED:

. 1/2 cup sooji (rava or semolina or  cream of wheat) 
. 1/2 cup sugar 
. 1/4 cup ghee 
.  2 green cardamoms - powdered  in a mortar-pestle, husks 
   discarded. 
. 2 saffron strands dissolved in 2 tblspn milk
. 2 raisins (kishmish) 
. 1 cup milk
. 1 cup water 

HOW TO MAKE IT : 

Step 1
Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add semolina and roast on low heat till fragrant.

Step 2
Heat milk and water together in another non-stick pan. 

Step 3
Add milk water mixture, saffron and cardamom powder to semolina, mix, cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.

Step 4
Add sugar, mix, cover and cook till it melts. Switch off heat, take a bowl and grease it with Ghee. Now fill the bowl with rawa shira and invert it on plate.

Step 5
Serve hot garnished with raisins, cashew nuts and chopped almonds.

Enjoy hot sheera or cool it and eat it. It tastes yummy both ways.
