Bāng gè máng hǎo ma? 帮个忙好吗? Could you help me out? 帮 (bāng) = to help 个 (gè) = a measure word 忙 (máng) = busy, but here it refers to the things that make people busy or troubled 帮个忙 (bāng gè máng) = to help out ________________________ We can also add an object such as "她 (tā) she" and "我 (wŏ) I" after "帮 (bāng)": 帮我个忙 (Bāng wŏ gè máng.) = Help me out. Lisa, bāng wŏ gè máng, hǎo ma? Lisa, 帮我个忙好吗? Lisa, could you help me out? ________________________ Furthermore, when you ask for a favor, you can repeat "帮 (bāng)" to further soften your tone. It will be: 帮帮忙 (Bāngbang máng.) The first "帮 (bāng)" is the first tone and the second is the neutral tone. Bāngbang máng, hǎo ma? 帮帮忙好吗?
