A:  Like most art materials, ArtResin has a shelf life.
In this case, the shelf life refers to the clarity of the product and how long you can expect ArtResin to stay looking just as clear as the day you bought it.⁣

ArtResin’s shelf life is 12 months unopened and about 6 months opened. ⁣
⁣
The reason for this differential is oxidization: when oxygen hits the hardener, it does have a yellowing effect, much like a cut apple or avocado will brown once cut and exposed to air. ⁣

Keep in mind that yellowing hardener from oxidization is an entirely different thing than yellowing caused by UV exposure ... but not to worry - we’ve got you covered there too! Even when cured, you can still expect ArtResin to stay clear for the longterm: it’s chemically engineered to protect your work from the damaging effects of UV as well.⁣ 

So, even if you were to go beyond ArtResin’s shelf life, the product will still cure as expected. Not only that, but the hardener will further dilute once mixed with the resin ( which stays crystal clear ) making it perfect for using on darker paintings, on wood, or for tinting.⁣
