With the explosion at Murond Death City, Ramza, Alma, Orlandu and the rest of their party are believed dead.  We are left at the scene of the funeral of Alma, where mourners are gathered to grieve for the loss of Alma, and the entire Beoulve family which is thought to have been completely wiped out.  Olan appears to pay his respects to the siblings when the coast is clear for him. Olan finishes the story, saying that Delita married Ovelia and became King of Ivalice.  Olan wonders if his father Orlandu died fighting bravely alongside Ramza.

Olan then begins to walk off, but is stopped when he sees none other than Ramza and Alma ride through the graveyard on their Chocobo's.  Olan yells for them to stop but they continue.  He then thanks Ramza for his bravery and courage throughout the entire storyline, for being the true hero that received nothing for his deeds.  

Olan, feeling it necessary that the true story be told, compiles a work known as the Durai Papers, telling the true story of Ramza and his brother's, King Delita, and the Church's misdeeds.

Olan is burned at the stake by the church, fearing the truth leaking out to the public.  However hundreds of years later, a scholar and descendant of Olan, Alazam Durai, takes the compiled works of his ancestor and revives the honor of Ramza Beoulve.
