14mm dowel 1m long
6mm x 6mm square section strip wood 240cm length
4 bamboo skewers
8 CDs or DVDs
Suitable pulley
6mm steel tube to suit the pulley
Drinking straw
1kg weight
Length of string

Tools
Drill and suitable drill bits
Hot glue gun
