Documentary about the construction of the Rika Hopper Theatre. In 1926, the Frascati Theatre on Amsterdam’s Plantage Middenlaan was renovated. The property took on an Art Deco look, and the name was changed to the Rika Hopper Theater, named after de the Dutch actress Rika Hopper. The documentary shows the construction of the new theatre. We see examples of the property before and after the renovation, the contractor, the architect, and the construction workers. Signatures are set to paper, and a woman sets the first stone. On a balcony of the theatre, we see a theatre company rehearsing.

Documentaire over de bouw van het Rika Hopper Theater.
In 1926 wordt de Frascati Schouwburg aan de Plantage Middenlaan in Amsterdam verbouwd. Het pand krijgt een art-deco uiterlijk en de naam wordt veranderd in Rika Hopper Theater. De documentaire toont de bouw van het nieuwe theater. Te zien zijn beelden van het pand voor en na de verbouwing, van de aannemer, de architect en van de bouwvakkers. Er worden handtekeningen gezet en een vrouw legt de eerste steen. Op een balkon van het theater repeteert een toneelgezelschap.
