Part 15.In 1994, the next entry in the franchise would be introduced as one of the greatest Metroid games ever... Super Metroid for the SNES. The third game in the Metroid franchise and the 7th entry in the story, this game literally defined video game achievement. Super Metroid took everything that the original Metroid had and expanded it considerably. The story takes place after Metroid II where Samus hands the Metroid infant to Galactic Federation scientists in the hopes that they can use the Metroid for peaceful purposes. However, when Samus left the Ceres Spacestation she receives a distress signal meaning that the station was attacked by Ridley, leader of the Space Pirates and General to Mother Brain steals the infant Metroid and flies off to planet Zebes, the same planet where Metroid originally began.
