Giant pandas at the San Diego Zoo have been treated to a winter wonderland as more than 13600 kg of snow was sprayed on them.

One-year-old cub Xiao Liwu, his four-year-old brother Yun Zi and their mother Bai Yun slid around in the snow, curiously checking out their new surroundings. The pandas hung out in trees and chased each other through the powdery white landscape.

The snow day was for an enrichment programme, which keeps the animals inquisitive and active. Report by Andrea Lilly.
