The Britons died while taking a taxi through the town of Sant LLorenc des Cardassar around 8pm on Tuesday when a nearby river burst its banks and swept the vehicle away amid torrential rain. They are among at least six people who died in flash flooding on the island of Majorca overnight, while four others - including their driver - were still missing on Wednesday morning. Seven inches of rain fell on the island in a two-hour span, turning roads into rivers while also flooding homes and businesses. Around 100 people were forced to spend the night in shelters as the Spanish government dispatched dozens of emergency workers and helicopters to the disaster zone.
