According to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK's) Korean Central Television, the country's leader Kim Jong Un will open a dialogue channel with the Republic of Korea (ROK) for talks at 06:30 GMT, which is about 30 minutes from now. ROK's presidential office has welcomed the DPRK's move. It is the first time in almost two years that the two nations have opened a dialogue. The talks will focus on sending a DPRK delegation to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics next month. The move comes a day after the ROK proposed high-level dialogue with the DPRK following Kim Jong Un's conciliatory New Year's Day speech. Our correspondent Shane Hahm reports from Seoul.
