Change your Habits, Change your Life. Here are 5 Habits that will change your life for the better. Choose one of the 5 and try putting it into practice today!

1. Talk less, listen more. This one is easier than it sounds.
The Less You Talk, the more you're listened to. Abigail Van Buren
Have you ever had someone tell you the same story 3 times without even realizing that they're doing it? Or maybe you were that person.

For one day, challenge yourself to shift your focus to listening to others rather than talking for the sake of talking. Make an effort to truly pay attention to what the other person is saying to you, take in each word with intention. While you're listening, concentrate on what the other person is saying without an urge to reply back... without starting think of what you want to tell them, before they've even finished speaking. Doing this has many benefits. It increases a sense of calm and peace within you, because you're not rushing to get to your next point, which also reduces stress. It Improves your ability to concentrate. It Shows the person you are speaking with a great amount of respect, which they will feel and appreciate and when you do speak, you can feel like what you're saying has an impact, because you've thought it through and aren't just speaking for the sake of being heard.

2. Single-Tasking. Pick a task and focus on it wholeheartedly until it's complete.
“The quickest way to do many things is to do one thing at a time.” – Christopher Westra

Multi-tasking, or switching back and forth between tasks before they are complete wastes a lot of energy and time and can cause a lot of confusion.

Choosing just one task to complete from beginning to end, like doing the laundry, writing a blog post or replying to all of your emails, improves your self-discipline, increases your attention span and also can boost your self-confidence... because it feels good to be able to begin and complete something and tick it off of your list... rather than having started 5 things and left them all unfinished.

3. Smile and introduce yourself first! Why not strike up a friendly conversation and get to know someone new. Often, we get so comfortable with our routines, and the people we already know... that we kind of block out all of the people we are around all day long. If you're waiting in line at the grocery store and there is a friendly person behind you that smiles at you... smile back and introduce yourself. You don't have to commit to being best friends with them... just say hello, my name is _____, how's your day going so far? You never know... that one conversation with that friendly person can give you a great idea, or maybe you made their day 10x better just by caring enough to say hello and chat with them. Never underestimate and genuine smile and eye contact.

4. Keep a notebook by your bed and write down the first thought that comes to your mind.
The first few minutes after you wake up are often the moments of clearest insight and inspiration because your mind isn't yet busy with thoughts of work and responsibilities you have.
for 30 days, write down the first thought or idea that comes to mind when you wake up. You could come up with an easy solution to a challenge you've been facing or a great idea for a business. Over night, your mind is sorting out and organizing your thoughts from the day before... so you may have had something on your mind and find that the answer to it pops into your head effortless first thing in the morning.

5. Visualize positive results.
Whether you're taking a test, Going into a business meeting, going on a first date or going to start a new workout plan... Visualize yourself doing well! even if you can only hold the image in your mind for a few seconds when you first start... it can have incredible results for your confidence and your performance. As you walk in to take that test, picture yourself being calm, knowing the answers, and trusting yourself. Picture yourself looking at your great results and being happy.
Visualization is such a powerful tool and can improve your life in so many ways.
