A very unusual find, this. A 12" lacquer disc, though with the groove only cut to a 7" and running at 45rpm. This is an automatic alert disc where, in less technological times, if a building was being broken into (in this case a company in Clerkenwell), a record player would start and this would be played down the phone to Scotland Yard. A very rare and interesting piece of crime and security history.
