This Purple chop top Mercury is the result of an outstanding build. Attention to detail was number one with this restoration and it shows. The full rotisserie restoration included a custom interior with wood dash, chrome tilt steering column, beautiful white and purple interior with bucket seats and a custom center console. Equipment consist of power windows, electric door and trunk poppers, Vintage Heat and A/C and AM/FM radio with CD. The engine is a 375 HP 350 CID Ram Jet crate engine backed by a highway friendly 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission and back to a Ford rear end. An aluminum radiator helps keep the engine cool. Other notable equipment includes an aluminum driveshaft, stainless steel gas tank and Air Ride. The front suspension is a Fat Man Mustang II design featuring tubular upper and lower control arms with power rack and pinion steering. Power four-wheel disc brakes help slow this sled down in a hurry. The Purple paint looks amazing and was professionally laid. The body was properly prepped, door handles were shaved and the top was chopped. To add detail, the Merc features custom pinstriping throughout. There is a subtle contrast with darker purple on the top, hood, and sides. To add a neat touch, a white portion outlined in 3D appearing trim is painted on.
