Charlie and Ben share a family tradition, Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Orange Drop Cookies... they are seriously good!

These chocolate chip cookies are made with cream cheese which makes them taste similar to cheese cake, you'll absolutely love this recipe!

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. 

First you will need to start with the following ingredients:
1/2 Cup of Shortening (We Use Crisco)
8 Oz Package of Cream Cheese 
1/2 Cup of Sugar (cookies don't taste good without SUGAR)
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon of FRESH Orange Grind (Fresh is necessary)
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract. 

Blend/Mix these ingredients together thoroughly. 

Next you'll add a little substance to the cookies.

Add 1 Cup of Flour sifted with 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt.  If you cannot sift them together just put your mixer on low and slowly add them to the dough. 

Finally add 6 ounces of Chocolate Chips.  You'll notice the recipe calls for a 12 ounce package, we find this to be a little too much.  I highly suggest you use dark chocolate morsels they really enrich the flavor.  Another ingredient I have added are Dried Cranberries. The Cranberries take this chocolate chip recipe to a whole new level during the holidays. 

Spoon the cookie dough onto a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.  They'll still look snow white but you'll know they are done when you see a tiny bit of golden brown around the edges.
