As the process comes to its closure, several Colombian Women Organizations are organizing the a Summit for Women and Peace in Bogota, from September 19 to 21. This Summit aims to contribute to building a more effective participation of women´s organizations throughout the peace process and to increasing the visibility and legitimacy of women as political actors in the referendum process that will take place after the Final Peace Accords. The Summit will also help to ensure that the implementation of the peace accords includes women´s voices.The Summit will count with the participation of 500 women with diverse political and regional backgrounds, as well as with different experiences in peacebuilding. The process will generate a dialogue that enables the construction of proposals to address the many challenges that might come with the implementation of the accords and the referendum.
