Black Tailed Prairie Dogs live in Aurora Colorado and in over 500,000 acres of the eastern plains of Colorado. They are a very important animal for the ecosystem because many other animals depend on them for food and shelter, they even help fertilize and aerate the soil keeping the prairie fertile. Builders and developers can have a headache when it comes to the country's smallest mammal but they do allow permits to relocate them.
