As dawn breaks over eastern India, the Erode WAP4 powers the 22824 New Delhi Bhubaneshwar Rajdhani Express through eastern Bihar towards Jharkhand. From around Dehri-on-Sone, we are greeted at regular intervals by long-distance express trains which depart from Howrah in the evening or the night and cross eastern Bihar early in the morning, on their way to north or western India. Between Gaya and Koderma, we meet the 12321 Howrah Mumbai Mail via Allahabad, which sluggishly proceeds towards Gaya with a Howrah WAP4. After crossing the Mumbai Mail, we skip the station of Tankuppa at approximately 90 kmph.
