1-8 "Salvo The Slime's Castle" any% in 1:37 (Recorded in September 2007) [0:18] The less you step on any rotating platforms the better. I wanted to only accept attempts at which I couldn't see Yoshi walking on them, this point was a constant 'run killer. [0:23] Butt stomp, fire left, fire right, fire left, and fire right while going towards the right. This is the spam I would do to kill time while waiting for the fish to finish blowing its water. Accidentally (as usual), I discovered my spam is precisely timed (or very close to) the finishing frames of the water bouding me from the other side of the room. [0:27] I'm making this jump while eating the shy guy, while maintaining momentum and not jumping too high in order to enter that thin exit from the ground easy. It's not. There were 2 options for how to handle the room with vase: a) keep my 1 egg for the boss, and abuse getting hit to pass everything. b) Fire my 1 egg at the red switch, then stock up on eggs below the door with the keyhole, followed by spamming them all at the boss. Both are respectable options, but I don't think I can spam that well against Slimo, so I leaned towards scenario A. [0:46] FYI, I'm FRAMES within lossing invincibility at this point. But this is all according to plan. [0:56] My only mistake that bothers me; I should've waited on the rotating ball for about half a second to a second before jumping towards the ledge. I lose about a second fluttering neddlessly to reach it. ==========////////==========//////// NOTICE: Please refrain from being stupid and stealing my speedruns and claiming them as your own. Everything seen here is possible if you practice for weeks like I did. FAQ: • When you fire green eggs, they can bounce off of walls, and pipes. If they hit enemies, they resolve by killing the enemy touched. When they bounce off surfaces, they change colors. From green, to yellow, to red. If a yellow egg touches an enemy, 1 coin will appear. If a red egg touches an enemy, 2 stars will appear. • It's faster to jump across uneven surfaces than to walk on them. You can catch eggs that were thrown in midair by extending Yoshi's tongue to grab the egg. • Firing an egg, then canceling will send the egg that was canceled to the end of the line of eggs you currently have. This allows you to be able to select a particular (usually a red one) egg to be fired without wasting eggs.
