Eastern Cape to get priority assistance to improve matric results

Under-performing schools in the Eastern Cape will receive prioritised assistance. Two schools had a zero percent pass rate and 127 a pass rate of less than 30 percent. Poor infrastructure, teacher shortages and non-delivery of books the big bugbears. The Eastern Cape was yet again the worst performer with a 59.3 percent pass rate.
