Devotees from Karlovac, Croatia, headed by Mohan Das and Adbhuta Dhatri dd, Dasaratha Das, and Syama Rasa Das, travel to eight countries in the Mediterranean region doing three to four hours of harinama each day, about 1.5 hours in the morning and 2.0 hours in the evening. Often fifty to a hundred people can be seen watching their evening kirtanas for two hours. Mohan tries to get them all to hear the mantras attentively and experience their effect. People often dance along with their music and occasionally chant. I attended their tour from July 20 to July 31, 2011. The July 21 evening in Opatija was especially memorable, with young kids and adults from Israel joining the dancing. One lady from Israel said, "You people are also so beautiful, I could cry." Seeing the video recording of it, I felt the same way about the beauty of the kirtana and dance. In Zadar, one night two teenagers from Belgium danced with us on five occasions throughout the evening, and the next evening two high school graduates from the Netherlands watched the kirtana for an hour with obvious joy and then danced with the devotee ladies. I gave them all the foreign dances invitations to our temples in their counties so they could follow up on their interest in Krishna kirtana and dance. I had a wonderful time on the Mediterranean Meets India Tour and hope to go next year to the southern part of Croatia with them. For more information they have a web page (www.avadhuta.hr) and can be found on Facebook as "Mediterranean Meets India".
