Next year sometime the Off Grid Project will move on to phase two with The Off Grid Cottage. We will take a normal cottage fully off the grid, including water, electricity and waste. Follow The Off Grid Project as we show you how to get your home off the grid on a budget. So far The Off Grid Project has taken a 32 foot camper deep into the forest and set up solar power and rain water. The trailer has a fireplace with a water boiler heating system. There is running water throughout the trailer. Rain water runs into the on board tanks when needed to replenish the water levels. There is enough solar power to run LED lights, a laptop, fans and small electronics. So far a fridge is not yet possible. Experiments are being carried out with a solid state cooler for refrigeration.
