Before Tweeter, Facebook or a TV talk show with both sides yelling at each other this is how people were informed when there were a major crisis, that right, the evening news. Alann Steen, Jesse Turner, Rober Polhill and along with an Indian Professor name Mithal Eshwar Sing, all worked at Beirut Unversity, which is where they were abducted. The Americans’ awareness were heighten, because abduction of Terry Waite who was acting independently as a negotiator, all these events came on the heels of the Iran-Contra affair, which became public in November 1986.
