Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday invited the leaders of the Telugu Desam Party for an open debate on the Special Category Status. He said the TDP did not support him when he had launched a fight for it. “Till recently, the TDP extended support to the BJP and now it is joining hands with the Congress, the party that divided the State, without taking the people from the Andhra region into confidence. Do the TDP leaders have any values?” he asked at a public meeting at Ramachandrapuram town as part of his district tour.

The Jana Sena was the only political party fighting to protect the Telugu pride and self-respect, he said charging both Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy with lacking the courage to challenge the Centre.

Foreseeing thumping victory in the ensuing elections, Mr. Pawan said the party was committed to the welfare of the poor and would address the problem of unemployment.

Earlier in the day, he discussed with Muslims on the recommendations of the Sachar Committee and visited the Relli Colony to know the problems of the residents
