https://www.bhf.org.uk/findthecure Melanie, 53, suffered multiple heart attacks a few years ago and now lives with heart failure. The British Heart Foundation helped her back on her feet and it was this that inspired her to support the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal by becoming a Hope Sponsor. "The BHF were a lifeline. The help, support, everything they do. That's why I needed to give something back." As a Hope Sponsor, Melanie pays a monthly Direct Debit to support BHF research into a cure for heart failure. In return she receives regular updates on how the research is progressing. "I feel this research is so important. It gives me hope - not just for myself, but for future generations. The way I can contribute is to be a Hope Sponsor. It's so easy - one payment goes out every month. I wouldn't miss it and I wouldn't stop it." Heart failure can cause frightening and prolonged suffering. But now, groundbreaking research supported by our Mending Broken Hearts Appeal is giving those with heart failure hope for a cure.
