The number of the day links to the Rand which has been a little unsettled by the tariff tussle as it's being called between the United States and China. US President Donald Trump started by raising tariffs on imports from China, which will make it more difficult for Chinese companies to sell their goods at competitive prices in America. And China has hit back but right now the salvos are not massive. Still, the Rand broke through R12 to the dollar today. It has generally been trading stronger than that level.
