After interviewing & watching interviews by some of the world's top singers in the rock genre this was a common theme. I think it's a thought worth sharing.

Our voices are VERY resilient. The fear of "damaging" our voice often keeps us from actually growing our voice and progressing beyond what we're comfortable with. If something hurts or is painful don't do it, but as long as there's no physical pain you will probably be fine, especially if not continued for long lengths of time. I've spoken to hundreds of rock singers who tell me how they lost their voices many nights until finally they built up the stamina to reach the notes they always wanted to and they still have amazing ranges even at old ages.

I'm not a doctor, and shouldn't be consulted as one. Practice at your own risk. Just know that most of your favorite rock singers didn't "baby" their voices, and neither should you. Take of yourself physically, drink lots of water, and PUSH your voice. It'll be ok, and probably it will be BETTER!
