Merle Oberon was a Classic Hollywood actress of Anglo-Indian dissent. Trying to hide her Indian heritage she often told people that she was from Tasmania, Australia. Another secret she concealed was that her sister Constance, age 12 at the time of Merle's birth, was actually Merle's biological mother. She came clean about these myths a year before she died. She indeed was an exceptionally beautiful woman. Oberon starred opposite Cornel Wilde in the 1945 docudrama "A Song To Remember". The film is a very loose interpretation of the life of Frederic Chopin. Of the many works of his that were used in this film, his "Heroic Polonaise In A Flat Major" was a major stand out.
