The nutritional value of foods over the last 50 to a 100 years has been steadily declining, which means when a person eats an orange today it has about half the amount of Vitamin C it had fifty, sixty years ago. The whole movement towards processed foods has turned food into something that is not serving human beings real true needs. A car needs gasoline and oil and air to run - we need a combination of many, many different things. You take the white foods; just look one classification of food, white food. I have a chapter somewhere called white menaces – white rice, white bread, white pasta, white sugar, and even white salt. The problem with, and why they are white, is that they take out all the minerals, all the magnesium specifically. So people are running day-by-day with decreasing levels of magnesium. This hurts people very, very much, makes them suffer and then fall into disharmony and disease. So, if this is true, and it is true, this is scientific information that comes out of Universities like MIT, that about 68% of all Americans are magnesium deficient.
