Hi folks,
I've been asked to sing this song for the St John ambulance team at a charity concert soon, and thought I would post it, pre-the event, to ask you all what you think of it. I feel my voice strains sometimes, when reaching for that top note, it's not quite as crisp as I'd like it to be... but, hey, I keep telling everyone that I'm not a soprano, and yet no one listens! :-p

I've set the song to pictures of the demolition of Seacliff Lunatic Asylum. circa. 1960.
In a way, I rejoice when seeing those terrible walls finally coming down, the end of much suffering and unjustness. In another way, I feel sorrow for the building and its architect, for in a sort of poetic way, the building is much like its patients; not responsible for what happened inside of it, beautiful and unique on the outside, brewing with trouble on the inside, powerless to stop or control any of it. Created, just to be shunned and ultimately; destroyed.

So, anyway, please let me know what you think of the song - or indeed, what I've told you about Seacliff. Any tips on the high notes would sure be appreciated too :-)

Peace and love,
Renee.
