So that there is no question in the mind of the listener, I rely principally on images of the LP and LP jacket in order to document the authenticity of historically important recordings such as these. 

The late Austrian conductor Hans Swarowsky (1899-1975) leads the Vienna Festival Orchestra in this 1956 performance of the music to the opening scene of Act 1 of Swan Lake. 

This video was created from an LP issued by a subscription service, set up in the USA in the early 1950s, called "Music Treasures of the World," which in turn was part of the American Recording Society.
