I tried to find the Playstation and Saturn versions. But I had better luck with the Super Famicom ROM.

This game is a compilation of several titles including Shanghai, Rong Rong and Shikinjou. And it supports the mouse. That's good because movement is a tad clunky in Shanghai games without one. I didn't try the mouse for Shikinjou. But it works there too. That's what the arrow and "give up" buttons are for. You can give up on the level with the controller by pressing start.

Rong Rong is interesting. It's like Shanghai except in order to match tiles the computer must be able to draw a line from one tile to another without other tiles in the way. Well it makes more sense to see it then for me to explain it. The first game option on the main menu is a story mode with Rong Rong style gameplay.

This version of Shikinjou only has one skin, the jiang shi. There aren't any other BGMs or tilesets either. I played for awhile and didn't see any cute little cutscenes either. The music isn't bad. But it lacks the catchyness and variety of the Mega Drive game. I think the Mega Drive version is the best. But then again it's a standalone game and there's a lot more to it. This one is still perfectly good though.

There are 200 levels. I did the first six for this video. You can also choose between two game modes for Shikinjou. The top one is free play. You just automatically progress through the levels as you beat them. The bottom option is single play. This lets you pick whatever level you want, play it then go back to the menu again.

Overall it's pretty satisfying to play. Especially if you like the simplicity of a plain background and the classic Shanghai tileset.
