I have tried lithium batteries in the microwave, capacitor bank, and with an MOT, so today I decided to put a dead lithium cell into a mixture of concentrated nitric, sulfuric, and hydrochloric acids. The acid mix ate away the stainless steel casing oif the battery, but a plastic layer inside kept the acids from the lithium. So, I cut this plastic off and threw the core back in the acid bath, with flaming results. This was not done at home and I had gloves, a face shield, and a powerful vent fan to clear the nitrogen dioxide fumes. I hope you enjoyed this.
